I have had so many items to choose from for this months favourites post, so it has been quite hard but I think I have managed to pull together a good mix of products. Saying that, four of these are types of highlighter so lets just get on with it!
I had to search high and low for this product, I was to slow to get it in Selfridges and was told that there is no chance in hell that I will manage to buy it since it is sold out everywhere. Harrods, once again had my back for this one. I ordered it online for £48, which for a highlighter is very expensive but I had seen so many positive things written about this product that I had to have it. It is a very warm rosey gold powder that reflects light beautifully, and the packaging is some of the nicest I have ever seen. The powder doesn’t sit in your pores and leaves a gorgeous glow on your cheekbones. I have been using this powder a lot and I has already become one of my all time favourites.
I am a colour corrector junkie. I have owned 20+ kits from all different brands and price ranges but this is the cheapest, and best one that I have ever used. The colours are extremely pigmented and blend effortlessly into your problem areas. I would show you the inside of the palette but honestly it’s a mess, that is how much I use it. It includes a green, peach, orange and lavender colours which can help with most of your colour correcting needs. Creamy, pigmented and cheap, need I say anymore?
Cleaning your makeup brushes is the biggest chore, it takes so long and to be honest you need to be doing it at least once a week. I am always looking to make this much simpler and ‘Practk’ actually reached out to me last month and offered to send me one of their new ‘Palmats’. Created by the founders of Sigma Beauty, you already know that it’s going to be good. It features six suctions cups to keep it from slipping around your sink, a
djustable straps to fit onto the palm of your hand for a quick clean and is less than $10. Perfect for travel, everyone needs one of these little beauties. Please ignore the little specks of makeup on the mat in the photo, I had just used it to clean a few brushes before I wrote this post!
There was once a cute brick type pattern on this powder, that lasted around 30 seconds once I jammed my brush into it because it was so pretty. Another highlighter that doesn’t sink into your pores, this one is a must for glow lovers. It has a pink tone which is lovely on all skin types and applies so smoothly. This is the first Bobbi Brown highlighter that I have tried and definitely deserves a place on this months favourites.
I get so bored of always using the same product so I am always buying new concealers to try out and hope that they rid me of my dark circles. Even though this concealer isn’t super high coverage, I can’t stop using it. It is extremely creamy and blends out so easily, honestly it is amazing. It doesn’t leave any lines underneath my eyes, has a perfect shade for my skintone and the product goes a long way. I only use one pump and can conceal my under eyes, nose and any blemishes that I have on that day. I adore it.
This product seemed like a myth because it was so hard to get hold of. I was on a waiting list for a month and when I got the call to say that celestial was ready for me to pick up, I ran. Unlike most highlighters, this one is a liquid and has a little dropper to apply the product with. This makes it incredibly versatile, mix it in with foundation to give it a dewy glow or on its own as a highlight that Jaclyn Hill would be jealous of. You only need to use the tiniest amount of it which means it should last you a good amount of time, as long as you don’t start applying it to everything that you put on your face. I chose the colour ‘Celestial’ which is a silvery pink shade and apparently the hardest to get hold of. The only way to describe it? Liquid Metal.
Hourglass, my all time favourite cosmetic company. I have had this palette for around 5/6 months and it has to be the product that I use the most. You can use it as a setting powder to keep your makeup from diminishing at all throughout the day or as subtle glow on certain points of your face. Each powder in the palette is named after a type of light; Incandescent, Radiant and Dim light. You are meant to choose the powder depending on which type of light you want to look like you are in. So each has a gorgeous tone which will keep you glowing at any time of day. As you can see from the photograph, I am probably due a new one as I use it that often. If you purchase this from the Hourglass website then you can actually choose which ambient lighting powders you want in the palette which is perfect if this one doesn’t take your fancy. This is a ride or die product that I know I will be using for many months and years to come.
